At Hill City, we want our culture to be defined by these 4 core values. We believe God has not only commanded us to embody these values as the church, but that the success of our mission and vision is impossible without these.

  • We take Jesus seriously when He says the world will know we are his disciples by the love that we have for one another (John 13:35). In a world filled with constant outrage and fear, we want people to experience the love that comes through Christ, both for those inside the church and those on the outside.

  • While we recognize that we have important work to do, we believe that the most productive thing we can do is pray. This isn’t a catchy platitude for us. This is what we believe. We genuinely believe we are dependent upon God for everything we say and do because nothing can be done apart from Him (John 15:5). Therefore, we are committed to being constant in our prayer (Rom. 12:12).

  • We do not take one another’s efforts and God’s continual faithfulness for granted, but instead regularly take time to express gratitude for God’s redemptive work in individual lives, families, and communities (Col. 2:7) and have a lot of fun while doing it! We joyfully celebrate both the small things and big things that God is accomplishing through His people for His glory!

  • We recognize that we are fallible people who always have more to learn. We take God’s Word seriously when it says “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (Jam. 4:6). That being said, we are willing to seek understanding, admit our shortcomings, confess our ignorance, and own it when we get it wrong.
